Children from children's homes and distinguished personalities from the world of sport attended the friendly football tournament organized by the foundation and ŠKODA AUTO, a.s., under the umbrella of the project Rozjedu to!  Tereza Maxová Foundation and ŠKODA AUTO, a.s., partnered on this project to effectively motivate children aged 11 to 15 growing up in the institutional care to expand their education and develop their personal and professional potential.
“Based on extensive research, we have found that children from orphanages lack the motivation to achieve high goals and role models that they could follow. That is why we organize such events where children meet interesting people, expand their horizons and try something new. Today, they listened to inspiring stories of struggle and success, and most of all we had a great time,” explains Terezie Sverdlinová, director of the Tereza Maxová Foundation.
Children from children's care homes Krnsko, Nymburk, Býchory and Mladá Boleslav came to Prague to participate in a friendly sports tournament. Popular personalities such the face of the foundation, Tereza Maxová, the legendary footballer Karel Poborský, sports commentator and hockey player David Pospíšil and Jakub Kohák, director and actor, took the mantle of the team captains. Barbora Černošková commented the matches.
After the tournament, Karel Poborsky spoke about his sports journey, which led from Trebon to Manchester United and to the European Championship. David Pospíšil reminded children how important it is to pursue your dream and not give up. Jakub Kohák talked about creative work and defeats that can push us forward. “It is important to find something that we enjoy and not stopping to pursue that dream even when we fail,” added Tereza Maxová.
"For six years, the project Rozjedu to! offered disadvantaged children an opportunity for the same professional start like their peers. It motivates them and helps them get a better education, get an idea of what different jobs look like and of course gain some formative, exciting experience," says Michal Kadera, Director of External Relations of the ŠKODA AUTO, a.s.
